Tracie's Pull List - Catch Up To August 15, 2012

HEY, okay, so... so it's been a few weeks.

Sorry about that. Life has been very busy/exhausting for a while but things are maybe starting to settle down. BUT YOU DO NOT CARE! We are here to talk about comics! So, let's have ourselves a little bit of catch-up...

Tracie's Pull List - Week of July 25, 2012

ANGEL & FAITH #12

AQUAMAN #11

CAPTAIN AMERICA #15

DARK AVENGERS #178

DC COMICS PRESENTS: WONDER WOMAN ADVENTURES #1

I like a lot of these little mini-trades DC has been putting out. Especially when it's random stuff like this, collecting the Wonder Woman-starring issues of the DC Universe Adventures comics done in the Bruce Timm/animated style but predating any Justice League cartoon.

FF #20

GREEN LANTERN #11

NATIONAL COMICS: ETERNITY #1

Jeff Lemire and Cully Hamner recreating a lower-tier DC character! More combinations of talent and character like this, please!

SECRET AVENGERS #29

SUPERMAN FAMILY ADVENTURES #3

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #690

THE AVENGERS #28

THE FLASH #11

THE INCREDIBLE HULK #11

THE MIGHTY THOR #17

UNCANNY X-FORCE #28

OH MY GOD THIS COMIC, THIS ISSUE, SO HEARTBREAKINGLY GOOD.

WINTER SOLDIER #8

WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #14

Tracie's Pull List - Week of August 1, 2012

ACTION COMICS #12

ANIMAL MAN #12

AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #9

AVENGING SPIDER-MAN #10

YOU GUYS, Kelly Sue is SO GOOD and I adore the "new" Captain Marvel and this is such a great two-parter. The perfect balance of funny and moving also explosions.

DAREDEVIL #16

Daredevil continues to be perfect and provides and unexpected emotional connection between Matt Murdock and Hank Pym.

DIAL H #4

EARTH 2 #4

HAWKEYE #1

SPEAKING OF PERFECT COMICS, no more perfect a debut issue I have read. I've said this a number of times since the issue came out, but this is one of those rare comics that you could hand to absolutely anyone and they could enjoy it without having to worry a lick about a 60 year history. Just great storytelling, great art, lots of heart and character. So instantly in love with this comic.

SWAMP THING #12

SWEET TOOTH #36

THE DEFENDERS #9

THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #522

ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #13

I LOVE YOU, MILES. IT'LL BE OKAY. I would hug you but I don't want to wrinkle my comic.

WORLDS FINEST #4

Tracie's Pull List - Week of August 8, 2012

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE #6

BATMAN #12

I was excited for this issue just because Becky Cloonan was providing guest art (and supposedly being the first female artist to draw the Batman ongoing series?) but then it blindsided me by being really touching and emotional and struck some personal chords with me that I was not at all expecting. GREAT stuff. Only downside was not having Cloonan's art all the way through the book.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #12

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: SEASON 9 #12

CAPTAIN AMERICA #16

FANTASTIC FOUR #609

First issue with Ryan Stegman on art! The start of Hickman's final issues of FF.

MEGA MAN #16

SPIDER-MEN #4

So heartfelt and wonderful. Exactly what I was anticipating from this series.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK #12

THE MIGHTY THOR #18

The beginning of the Mighty Thor/Journey Into Mystery crossover from Gillen and Fraction, signifying the beginning of the end of both runs. Don't leave me, Kid Loki!!!

THE NEW AVENGERS #29

Is this the last we will ever see of The Illuminati with Bendis wrapping up his many, many years with the Avengers?

WOLVERINE #311

Tracie's Pull List - Week of August 15, 2012

AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #10

BATWOMAN #12

BIRDS OF PREY #12

CAPTAIN MARVEL #2

Seriously, you guys, my love for this book and these women (fictional and non)... Already so happy to have this series in my life. So happy to see Kelly Sue's presence grow at Marvel.

DAREDEVIL #17

DARK AVENGERS #179

DC UNIVERSE PRESENTS #12

I'm a little on the fence about this. When the issue was announced I was like "yay, I can read about Bart Allen without having to deal with the rest of the Titans" but now I know that the issue is a sort of follow-up to "The Culling" storyline which is what lead to me dropping Teen Titans and Superboy in the first place. There's some fun-seeming art here and it's still a Kid Flash one-shot, I was just hoping it would shine more light on who Bart Allen is in The New 52.

GREEN LANTERN #12

SAGA #6

SUPERGIRL #12

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #691

THE AVENGERS #29

UNCANNY X-FORCE #29

Such a beautiful mix of dreading this issue but also knowing it'll be the first thing I read this week.

WONDER WOMAN #12

THAT IS ALL. 'Til next time. Excelsior!
