Lyta Hall... for a character that is obscure... she kind of has her hand in everything DC. She is the Post Crisis daughter of Steve Trevor & the Golden Age Wonder Woman on Earth 2. She was part of the team Infinity Inc. And she went on to marry Hector Hall, the Silver Scarab... After the Crisis it gets fuzzy. She got pregnant and gave birth the re-born Sandman (Morpheus) Daniel. Kind of... long story. THEN during Geoff Johns run on JSA, Hector Hall became the new Doctor Fate. I'm actually leaving stuff out. Yet, most people don't know who Lyta is. Hense... she is this weeks OCW. Check out the wiki link here.

This week's pick for the OCW was Dr. Geektarded's. He choice was Ghost Rider's obscure nemesis, "The Enforcer"! Ok, so he looks like the Punisher and wears a bullet-proof uniform, this "D" lister made his way into a handful of books across the Marvel plane before his demise at the hands of the Scourge in a now legendary Captain America run. OCW - March week 4 : Ratcatcher

This has been one of the most fun and productive weeks for us at Cbxf. We opened up a new Facebook fan page (address coming soon), ventured to Kansas City and hit this year's Planet Comicon. And on top of it all, we still have this week's OCW (Obscure Character of the week). Forgive us as we play catch-up and slowly filter out all the pictures, podcasts, & stories. In the meantime, this week's OCW is Ratcatcher and Jon Frank's illustration below beautifully nails this odd, gas masked wearing, Batman villain. Nicely done Jon!

In honor of the being Halloween week, the OCW is Merv Pumpkinhead from the world of Sandman's Dreaming. Basically a janitor in the world of Dreams who is a jerk! I loved any story that contained this OCW. If you'd like to learn more, check out this link.

OCW Skyman and Gus Beezer

Wooo! Skyman! What a cool looking character. I remember seeing him in a book of golden age comic covers years ago, but had forgotten about him until his name was thrown into the OCW mix. Getting less love is "Not Ready for Fox Kids Saturday Morning" Gus Beezer. He looks like Mighty Max and Ugly Kid Joe decided to have a dirty love-child, then completely forgot about it and drew a character called Gus Beezer instead.

I do think Gus needs to show up as a team-up with Deadpool, though. That'd be awesome...

OCW - June Week 4 - DC's Arkkis Chummuck

In honor of the Green Lantern movie that came out last week, this week's OCW is Arkkis Chummuck. Honored Fallen Lantern of Space Sector 3014. Arkkis Chummuck gained his power ring after killing and eating his predecessor; however, he went on to become one of the more powerful members of the Green Lantern Corps. Arkkis died defeating Maaldor the Darklord.

Been busy lately... and Summer is hard to keep up with the OCW drawings. But I always loved this costume. Tomorrow Woman was a great character... I'd love a DC comeback with her!

OCW - August Week 2 - DC's Ocean Master

This week's OCW isn't super obscure but... Hmm. Ok, Lets say you are a this Sea Guy, and you try to do good. You know. You have a kinda lame power and your buddies in the Justice League make fun of you. But Dammit... you're Aquaman. And you try. You're a hero... but you have this fucked up brother who just seems to mess with you. And no matter what you do, he sees it as a slap in his face. I mean, he's your brother... but he's still your worst enemy. Sure he's not the most obscure... but dammit, this post is Robb being passive aggressive.  Want to learn more... click here.

In honor of Gail Simone's appearance at Planet Comicon, this weekend, I thought I would finally get around to posting my Gus Beezer drawing from several months back. I do still intend to color it up proper one of these days, but the occasion just seemed appropriate and I haven't posted any OCW art in quite a while.

Jon is another of our Lincoln friends who was able to contribute for this go around. At this rate it'll be a full blown "Symmetry" reunion. I'll admit, I knew nothing of this guy... a true OCW! Thanks Jon, this looks great! Hope we get to see more. Editor's Note: the dog is actually named Dogg and was ALSO a character in the Blood Syndicate. Justice League never had a talking cat or nothing!
