OCW: July 3 - Battlestar

Now that we have talked about Lamar Hoskins I expect Brubaker to do something cool with him.

Some of you may know this, but the Johnny Walker as Captain America and Steve Rodgers as the Captain story line is the one I joined mid-way with my first comics.

Lamar stands out as a great character. Honestly, I am surprised he got buried with JW as of the two he was the deeper character.

I know he's popped a few times... Civil War... the initiative, but Lamar more than this joke... but it's all I got right now.

OCW- Fury

When I first heard we were going to do this, I was like, "Awesome a chance to draw a fetishist who pretends to be an animal for sexual gratification!"
Then I was told it was FURY, not FurRy.
So I was all, "White one or black one?"
They were all, "No FURY, not Nick FURY."
So I was like, "who?"
And they were "Pre-Crisis Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor's Daughter"
And I was like, "Pre-op Wonder Woman? Whatever, I am phoning this in."

OCW- Goldbug!

Wow, late to my own party here... This week was my pick and I went with Goldbug. I wanted to do a Luke Cage villain, because Power-Man is right now one of my favorite characters, but if you are like me, you don't know much about his swingin early stories. Goldbug is a Luke Cage Villain from back in the day and I love this rip off off Spider-Man and the Blue Beetle. Plus, his power is SQUIRTING GOLD GUNK ON YOU. I mean really.

namesake, Cap'n Cali is broke.

Dwayne wrote Marvel's DAMAGE CONTROL.
Issue #1 featured the origin of Randolf Rex...
who gained the power to be "cosmically anal-retentive."

I wanted a villain this week, a classic villain.
What's more classic than evil scientist from the future? Better yet? make him actually a freedom fighter from a future ruled by Thor.

for patriotic heroes and came across

The Skyman. I wish I could get some

interiors of the comics for no other

reason but to check out his plane,

The Wing.

Allen Turner is a great character and a

wonderfully retro look.
