Ranting Short about JLA

  1. I like the close pan to your scalp.

Also, I'll probably stick with JLA (at least for a couple issues) just because I'm a sucker and I wanna see what they'll do with Jade. (how did she get in a meteor, she was fine at the end of Blackest Night)

It's definitely not a book worthy of being the Justice League of America. It should be DC's flagship book as much as Avengers should be (and, I would say, IS... or is definitely going to be with the relaunch) Marvel's.

  2. As far as JLA being DC's "flagship" book, I couldn't agree less! If this WAS a book that DC as a whole could say was a flagship book we would most likely see a little more thought put into the series. JLA feels more like a savings account. It's something that DC can chip away at and replenish at their own leisure. The problem with this is that they take their sweet-ass time putting the gold back into the bank! When was the last time JLA was REALLY good? JLA's biggest problem (as well as Avengers) is the rotating staff. Sure, I want to know what vixen is up to........sometimes. They need to stick with a core group and stop shoving second stringers down our throats. We know that Robinson is great at making 2nd tier characters awesome and DC knows that as well but sometimes the B squad should stay the B squad. What T Mizzle said earlier tonight really stuck with me, maybe Robinson really IS the Claremont of DC.

  3. Couldn't agree more about the rotating staff, but Marvel has been doing it right. Look at how Bendis has been at the center of all the Avenger books, and how Marvel has focused that the satelite books matter. Not saying if they are good or bad, just that they matter. JLA hasn't mattered, (or is good) DC is missing an opportunity to bring the DC Universe under a Directional book, (like what the Avengers is to Marvel) JLA should set the tone of the Universe, not chase behind and beg for story scraps!!!
