OCW - May - Week 2: Nth Man

This week's OCW is Marvel's obscure white haired 80's ninja! Picked by Monty and Robb, just because he stood out from back in the day. Check him out here for more info on this dude!

OCW - May - Week 1: Bill

Bill!

Robb's Comic Book Code

Robb's Comic Book Code #8

DC Comics... Please please please... Leave Todd James Rice ALONE! The character known as Obsidian... was a hero. Was... a long time ago. But every other time we see him in the DCU he's a Good Guy, He's a Bad Guy... He's a Good Guy, He's a Bad Guy. JUST LEAVE HIM A HERO AND CALL IT GOOD! Its getting old DC, real old!

Tracie's Pull List - Week of May 11, 2011

Man.

So.

Last week, huh?

Thor? Wow.

Free Comic Book Day? My wrist is still sore from sketching for nearly 8 hours straight. (but also wow)

Second viewing of Thor? Still wow.

I'd say I need a break from the excitement but I have a play opening this week, so no dice there. (if you're in the Omaha area, COME SEE!)

So let's just get to the comics then, shall we?

Sam Jackson's missing Avengers Movie Script - FOUND!

We just happen to stumble across a left behind script... There it was just sitting on a table at the local McDonalds. He was eating a "Royale with Cheese" and had to rush to the restroom because he spilled special sauce on his shirt. Someone needed to make sure it was kept safe... so we at CBXF grabbed it for "safe" keeping. (Email us... make us an offer) To give a taste of the special-ness that is the Up-coming Avengers Movie, we've included a sample of the climatic ending in script form. Enjoy! (And please note... it is strange how much this script reads like As Good As It Gets, starring Jack Nicholson)

Issue 29: Thor and the Warriors Free

The Odinson and Mighty Avenger Makes for an excellent film! (Spoilers)

Its Friday night of the opening week of Thor and the CBXF gang just filmed their initial thoughts in video podcast form. But to be honest... I only scratched the surface of what I wanted to say. I'm going to do my best before the excitement fades, so here goes.

Thor!!! Movie vs the Comic book

Thor opened last night and Twitter seems to be responding positively. But how does it stack up? Is it as good as the original Iron Man movie? Will it be a financial success? Did they portray this beloved character right? Well tonight many of the CBXF gang plan on seeing the God of Thunder on the wide screen, In 3D! We'll do a quick podcast review and I'm sure some written reviews, too. Tell us what you thought of the big screen adaptation! Be seeing ya soon!

Green Lantern fans, explain this to me

Really? Really? Who we kidding here?

From Green Lantern #65.

Traci corrected me, it's Emerald Warriors #8

Will this be in the movie?

OCW - May - Week 1: Bill

In honor of the release of the Thor movie this week, we chose an obscure Thor character. The sad part was... Bill wasn't our first. Kroda the Duelist, Geirrodur King, forger of Mjolnir... but I couldn't find photo references. So we went with Bill!

May the 4th be with you!

Star Trek doesn't have a day!

CBXF Mailbag - Friendly Fire Comments

Hey guys,

New listener/watcher here, only seen a few episodes, will start watching all the back "issues" that I can.

Was just listening to the lastest episode of Friendly Fire. I think the whole "digital age of comics/virtually everything" has good and bad points. I hate spending money for something that I don't actually have in my hand. Its great to actually have comics sitting on your shelves. I love the fact that you can theoretically have your entire collection in the palm of your hand and you can search through it very quickly etc...

Tracie's Pull List - Week of May 4, 2011

This is it! The week you've/we've all been waiting for! THOR opens in U.S. theaters Friday! Free Comic Book Day is Saturday! You'll see Comicbook Crossfire report back from both of those events sometime early next week, I'd imagine.

Meanwhile, lets not forget that tomorrow's still Wednesday and that means NEW COMIC BOOK DAY!

(which is maybe not as exciting as FREE but still pretty exciting)

(also tomorrow's Star Wars Day, everybody! Utinni!!)

OCW - Week 5 : April : Klarion the Witch Boy

I've been so busy this week, but I've not missed an OCW yet... quantity over quality... "That's my motto!"

I can say my first experience with Klarion was in Giffen's run on The Demon. I think Lobo made an appearance too. Wasn't too memorable.

Friendly Fire -Audio Podcast - Episode 4 (part2)

Tracie, Matt, and Robb continue their audio cast on Flashpoint, Fear Itself, and some politics of comicbooks and the industry. On this episode, Robb makes references a podcast called "Just Bill, the Comics Drawer".  Please check out his podcast here.

OCW - Week 5 : April : Klarion the Witch Boy

Jon Frank's Klarion

Jon's pick this week was the Jack Kirby creation, Klarion the Witch Boy. Check out his awesome OCW contribution. Looks great Jon!
